Q:
When do I need to update my order?
A:
The cut-off for updates is Friday Night (10;00pm). This is a week before your delivery date. The web site will automatically move your order to the following week if your update is made after this deadline. Orders cannot be cancelled after this cutoff either. If you discover last-minute you cannot take your order, please call us to arrange for a different delivery location or to donate your order to the local food bank.

Back to topQ:
What should I do with the empty bin?
A:
Your produce will be delivered in a reusable food grade plastic bin. Please be sure to leave your empty bin out on the day of your delivery. A $15.00 charge will be added to your bill for any bin not returned. This fee will be refunded when the bin is returned.
Back to topQ:
On hot or cold days, how will you keep my produce fresh?
A:
We have thermal bags we can use to protect your produce from temperature extremes. In the summer we will add ice packs into the bags to keep things cool.
Back to topQ:
What if I’m not home to receive my delivery?
A:
If you live in a residential neighborhood, it is usually safe to leave your box on your front or back porch.
Back to topQ:
What is your delivery area?
A:
Currently our service is available on the east and north side of Indianapolis and its northern suburbs. You can search by zip-code to find out if we're delivering in your area. If you're across the street from our area, contact us to find out if we can serve you.
Back to topQ:
Is there any minimum number of deliveries I have to commit to?
A:
No. You can try a single delivery and decide if you choose to continue. If you wish to cancel, simply let us know at least two business days prior to your scheduled delivery.
Back to topQ:
How do your prices compare to those of organic retailers?
A:
Because of lower operating costs and relationships with local suppliers, our prices are very competitive compared to a bricks and mortar grocery store. And there is no delivery fee for this service.
Back to topQ:
How fresh is your produce?
A:
Because it is sourced as locally as possible, our produce is as fresh as we can get it! Depending on the season we also purchase from local wholesalers. We always strive for the best quality available for two reasons: Our reputation is at stake and we eat it too!
Back to topQ:
So how do we know if a product is organic but not certified organic?
A:
We get to know the growers. We learn what methods they use to raise their various products and sustain their farms. The producers we work with want to build long-term relationships and they know that we'll only be back if you're satisfied with their products!
We will also buy locally grown produce that is not organic because there are great produce varieties grown in Indiana that are not yet grown organically. When we do buy non-organic, we will disclose that fact and if you indicate you do not wish to get conventionally raised products we won't put them in your box; its as simple as that.
Our goal is to encourage local farmers to grow organic by purchasing organic whenever possible. When that isn't possible we still want to give our customers the choice to be able to buy locally.
Back to topQ:
How do I know what I’m getting is really organic?
A:
Whenever possible, for instance when we purchase from a wholesaler, our produce is USDA certified organic. However, local farmers won't always have the certification, because central Indiana is an emerging market for organic produce.
Back to topQ:
Where does your produce come from and how much is local?
A:
It all depends on the produce item and the time of year. Seasonality affects availability and price, and there may be times of the year we do not carry something as it might be out of season completely, or prohibitively expensive.
We buy locally whenever possible. During the Indiana growing season we feature a large selection of locally grown items but we also buy from regional and national growers too. For example, tropical fruit comes from certified organic farms in Central and South America.

What’s the deal with all the pint and quart boxes?
A:
We buy in bulk whenever possible because it costs less and we don’t like paying for all that extra packaging. We reuse the "berry boxes" for a variety of fruits and vegetables. When you are done with the boxes, put them in the delivery bin for reuse. Egg cartons too!
